Still not much art happening at the Old House, but I have been working on the house and writing here and there. You can check out some of my writing on Medium. I am slowly working on a studio space in my old house--behind a door at the end of the upstairs hall. I know the stairs and hall aren't part of that studio project, but they have been bugging me since I moved in 2 1/2 years ago. This past week I was energized and motivated enough to remove the carpet (and pad, nailer strips, and staples). I am trying to keep myself occupied to get out of the funk I have been in. The house is a wonderful way for me to be productive and get some meditation in as I find my flow in removing carpet or paint, restaining door frames and doors, or redoing a closet. I'm painting, just not the abstracts I almost feel compelled to do. I'm getting there.
I'd like to get inspired and active in recycled art so I could enter the show in Taos again. It's been a while for that one. I need to drive down there to work on the land I have just outside of town (but that's another story).
